Clinical Care
We recognize that our patients have special needs and concerns about
their health and living with HIV/AIDS. Our goal is to provide a collaborative
and comprehensive array of services for our patients. All services utilize
experts who specialize in the field of adults diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
Our community of experts include: primary care providers, referrals to
UCSF medical specialists, pharmacists, dietitians, peer advocates, case
managers and licensed clinical social workers with contacts with key community
agencies.
At 360: The Positive Care Center at UCSF, patients receive high quality medical care provided by clinicians familiar with the latest HIV/AIDS treatments and information. All patients receive personal care from an expert medical provider who they can get to know and who will get to know them. Specialty primary care is available through the UCSF Men of Color Program and the General Practice. The center also offers on-call coverage by providers 24 hours a day. In addition, we provide access to UCSF specialists, emergency services and use of facilities at the UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus.
Consultative care is offered to patients who already have a primary care provider, but want to have the option to see an HIV/AIDS expert from time to time. Consultations can be initiated by a patient or their primarycare provider, and includes an initial visit to determine what the patient's needs are. Additional visits are available as needed, and recommendations for care can be forwarded to a patient's primary care provider if desired. Consultations may include:
